According to Ron Jackson's DNJournal Newsletter ,domain name sales increased slightly in the first quarter of 2011 .The first quarter of this year revealed sales of $23.5 million ,up with 1.7 percent from the same quarter of 2010 .
The first quarter of this year had only one seven figure sale,GamesforGirls.com ,sold for $500,000,while the first quarter of 2010 had two major domain name sales : Flying.com,sold for $1.1 million and Poker.org,sold for $1 million .
Of course, .COM continued to dominate overall.$16.3 million in .com sales were reported in this quarter,while in the first quarter of 2010 there were $14.5 million reported .com domain name sales.
ccTLDs sales declined 22 percent in this first quarter ,from $5.5 million to $4.3 million,while gTLD sales declined 6 percent ,from $3.1 million in the first quarter of 2011 to $2.9 million in the first quarter of this year .
