Daniel Goncalves Pleads Guilty to Stealing P2P.com Domain Name

Daniel Goncalves pleaded guilty to stealing the P2P.com domain name.The 26 years man recognized that he had stolen the domain name and sold it on eBay. Daniel Goncalves hacked the P2P.com account and transferred the domain name into his own account.After that Goncalves sold the domain name to the NBA basketball player Mark Madsen for 111,211 on eBay .However,Mark Madsen was unaware that P2P.com domain name was stolen.
The Division of Criminal Justice recommended that Daniel Goncalve to be sentenced to five years in prison and moreover,to pay restitution.
This is the first case when a person accused of  stealing a domain name is arrested in the United States and it can be a start that will serve as a precedent for other domain name theft cases.
