A year ago,on 12 May 2010,the Coordination Center for TLD .RU became the administrator of the new cyrilic domain name .РФ . .РФ surprised everybody when,in less than a week since .РФ was opened for general registration,more than 500,000 .РФ domains have been registered .
More than 240,000 .РФ domains were registered on the first day ,making .РФ a big surprise both for the Russians and the global internet community .Now, the IDN TLD .РФ outran Czech Republic’s domain .CZ and is on the 15th place by the number of domains among other European national domain names .
As of today ,there are 829,072 .РФ domain names registered and the number is increasingly rapidly .
