The .co.uk domain name is now DNSSEC signed .Therefore,from now one ,everyone who wants to protect their domains with another level of security can do it .
The top level domain name .UK was DNSSEC (Deployment of Domain Name System Security Extensions ) signed in March 2010,while .ME.UK was DNSSEC signed last month .
DNSSEC ( Domain Name System Security Extension ) will soon be available in almost a quarter of all TLDs and to the majority of domain name registrants. ICANN published its latest statistics and revealed that more than 20 percent of the world's TLDs have already implemented DNSSEC in their zones:
- 306 TLDs in the root zone in total
- 69 TLDs are signed
- 63 TLDs have trust anchors published as DS records in the root zone
- 4 TLDs have trust anchors published in the ISC DLV Repository
