It has been confirmed! Oversee.net has indeed laid off 10% of its workforce effective last Friday. Confirmation can be found in Ron Jackson's Lowdown report this week and via a Socaltech's article.
An Oversee.net spokesperson told SocalTech that “the cuts were in response to the general economic weakness and pressures in the industry.” According to both reports cuts were made across all divisions including SnapNames, Moniker and DomainSponsor.
Oversee.net is a privately held domain industry giant which operates the DomainSponsor.com, SnapNames.com and Moniker.com domain name services. Oversee.net acquired SnapNames in May, 2007 and Moniker in January, 2008.
