Celebs.com and copies.com topped the Domain Name Journal weekly sales
chart to 7 November, selling for $270,000 and $150,000 respectively.
The sales also came about through unusual sales brokers, HuntingMoon and
MediaOption, who helped break Sedo’s usual stranglehold at the top of
the charts. The sales were also the only six-figure sales for the week.
It was an unusual sales week for Sedo with only one sale in the top five and nine of the top 20 sales.
Twelve of the top 20 sales were .COM domain names while the top ccTLD sale was autoersatzteile.de, selling for €35,000 ($48,300) at number five. Another .DE domain made the top ten with soap.de selling for €22,000 ($30,360) coming in at number nine.
In tenth position was the first non-.COM gTLD sale, Partnersuche.org, which sold for €20,300 ($28,014).
