Even though Br.de domain name was from the release of two-character domains effected in autumn 2009,it was finally registered.
"The registration procedure for the br.de domain is finalised, and assignment of the domain to a holder is complete.
The successful registration application was submitted to DENIC by valid fax at 15:00:08 CET. In the meantime, DENIC have also entered the pertinent registration data within the domain data base. Access to the relevant data is provided via DENICs online query services (whois).
The specific fax line which was temporarily activated for the purpose of said registration has meanwhile been disabled in order to exclude further registration demands."
