China Daily reports that China's sports authorities have banned the issuance of Internet
domain names based on the country's Olympic gold medal-winning athletes.
Only the athletes themselves will be allowed to register their names. The move is aimed at preventing the commercial exploitation of sports people's names. In 2004, a controversy erupted over the commercial use of the names of gold medalists at the Athens Games, the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) said. Read more at: China Daily
