An Australian tourism body has spent A$100,000 buying three domain
names it considered important to promoting tourism down under.
The Northern Territory's tourism body, Tourism NT, bought the domain
names including tourismnorthernterritory.com.au and
northernterritory.com because they believed the domains were very
valuable and the price was fair, according to an ABC News report.
The issue came to light under questioning at a budget estimates
committee hearing this week. The NT Tourism Minister Malarndirri
McCarthy said the internet is a valuable tool to attract visitors to the
Northern Territory, according to the ABC News report.
