The National Arbitration Forum announced that a ruling has been issued in favor of Travelocity,regarding rights to the Internet domain name tarvelocity.com .
Travelocity submitted a complaint a while ago to the National Arbitration Forum,claiming rights over the disputed domain name.
Travelocity owns trademark registrations with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for the "Travelocity.com" mark .Therefore,the company contended that the disputed domain name is confusingly similar to its trademark.
Moreover,Travelocity contended that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith .
"Complainant submits a screen shot of the website resolving from the <tarvelocity.com> domain name. This image shows a directory website that lists hyperlinks to third-party websites offering travel services in competition with Complainant’s travel services. The Panel presumes Respondent profits from its use of the <tarvelocity.com> domain name through the receipt of pay-per-click fees. "
The Panel ordered the disputed domain name to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
