The Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC) announced recently that from 18 January 2011 application for [Chinese Characters].hk domain names will no longer be accepted.
ICANN approved HKIRC to administer the equivalent of the .hk top level domain name , the .香港 .Therefore,they decided to launch [Chinese Characters].香港 domain name categories in February/March 2011 .Until then,no one will be able to register a [Chinese Characters].hk domain name.
All the people who already have a registered [Chinese Character].hk domain name will be allocated a corresponding [Chinese Characters].香港 domain name for free.
