AOL wins domain name case covering six domains

AOL ,the American global Internet services and media company, has recently submitted a complaint to the National Arbitration Forum requesting six domain names to be transferred from the respondent to the complainant. The six disputed domain names are : aolde.com ,hicq.com,winmap.com,win-map.com,777-film.com, and mapuest.com .
The company owns many trademark registrations with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for AOL.com,ICQ,777FILM.com and Mapquest. Therefore, they contended in the complaint that the disputed domain names are confusingly similar to its trademark.
Moreover, they contended that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain names in bad faith .
" Respondent offered to sell the disputed domain names after Complainant contacted Respondent about the registration of the disputed domain names.  The Panel finds Respondent’s offer to sell the disputed domain names for more than Respondent’s out-of-pocket expenses constitutes bad faith registration and use."
"Respondent’s disputed domain names resolve to websites that all feature advertisements for and hyperlinks to Complainant’s competitors in the computer, entertainment, and online services industry.  "
Because the complainant failed to submit a response in this proceeding and because the complainant managed to demonstrate all the elements needed, the Panel ordered that the six domain names be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
