In his suit alleging cybersquatting under the Lahman Act,retired tennis star Andre Agassi has won a preliminary injunction barring three web sites from using his trademarked name in their web addresses.
On Wednesday,Judge Robert Jones granted AEI's motion for a preliminary injunctio, ruling that AEI is likely to succeed on the merits of its claims for cybersquatting and that AEI "will suffer irreparable injury to its Agassi trademark" if the sites are not enjoined from using the name.
The suit stated that the Web sites are not interactive and the people who registered the domain names cannot be contacted, but that the court has jurisdiction over them because AEI is located in Nevada.
