The National Arbitration Forum announced that a ruling has been issued in favor of American Airlines regarding rights to the internet domain name AAmericanAirlines.com.
The company owns many trademark registration for the "American Airlines" mark with the United States Patent and Trademark office.Therefore,they contended the disputed domain name is confusingly similar to its trademark.
Moreover American Airlines contended that the respondent registered and used the disputed domain name in bad faith .
"Respondent’s <aamericanairlines.com> domain name disrupts Complainant’s business due to the fact that the domain name resolves to a site providing links to other third-party services including those in direct competition with Complainant. "
The Panel ordered the domain name be transferred from the respondent to the complainant.
