Photon to takeover Dark Blue Sea?

Photon Group announced yesterday its intentions to takeover DBS and made an offer of 30 cents a share for 50.1% of the company. Photon currently has a 30.55% interest and Huon Capital have already indicated that they will accept the offer for their 14.25%. This means that after 2 years Photon just needs 5.3% more of the shares to finally secure Dark Blue Sea.

Domain Registrars legal framework clarified in France!

altIn a ruling published on August 29th 2009, Paris’ Tribunal de Grande Instance has clarified the legal framework of domain names registrars.

Five years since the first law framing the liability of technical intermediaries such as Internet Service Providers (based on EC Directive 2000/31/EC) the Court explains that the Registrar’s business is of a “strict technical nature [and performed] following specific requests from customers who bear the sole responsibility of choosing and using the domain name”.
