AFNIC will answer questions on the new legal framework for domains on May 5,2011 on Facebook

On 22 March, the President of the Republic promulgated a law changing the legislative framework for French domain names. The main changes will take place on July 1, 2011. On May 5th, between 2pm and 4pm, AFNIC will be available on Facebook.

The AFNIC Legal Affairs Department will answer questions from Internet users on the new legal framework for domain names on May 5, 2011, between 2pm and 4pm. You can already ask your questions on Facebook.

A second session based on the same principle will take place on June 1, 2011 between 10 am and 12am.

Reminder

The Law of 22 March 2011 has changed some aspects of the legal framework for domain names in France. The key changes will come into effect on 1 July 2011. The changes will mostly concern:

  •      Disputes between rights holders and holders of .fr domain names


  •      Prohibited and reserved terms


  •      Access to the list of registered .fr domain names.
