AFNIC,the company who is in charge of the administrative and technical management of the .fr domain name,recently launched the new Naming Policy applicable to the .fr TLD .
This policy comes into effect on 1 July,2011Â and it defines the new rules for allocating and managing domain names under the .fr TLD .Here is the announcement :
"The new Naming Policy comes into effect on 1 July. Designed and developed within the framework of the French Law of 22 March 2011, it defines the new rules for allocating and managing domain names under the .fr TLD.
Following the enactment on March 22 of the law, which contains various provisions bringing French national legislation into line with European Union legislation on health, labour and electronic communications, AFNIC has published today a new Naming Policy for the .fr TLD. The policy, which ensures consistency with the new legislation, will apply from 1 July onwards."
