Aeroflot Russian Airlines has recently filed a complaint with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center,asserting legal rights over the domain name Aeroflot.XXX .
According to whois records ,the disputed domain name was registered by Koba Gigineishvili on December 10,2011,four days after the ICM Registry made the .XXX extension available for public sale.Aeroflot Russian Airlines owns many trademark registrations for the "Aeroflot" mark.
The WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center will examine if the domain name is confusingly similar to the trademarked name.Moreover,it will examine if the owner of Aeroflot.xxx domain name has rights over it and if the domain name is being used in bad faith.Aeroflot.xxx will be passed over to Aeroflot Russian Airlines if it falls under all three stipulations.
The case is still pending compliance checks at the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center.
