The Vietnam Internet Network Information Centre (VNNIC) announced on April 28 that individuals and organization can register free domain names in the Vietnamese language on a "First come first serve " bases .
After only three days from the official opening of free Vietnamese domain names,about 100,000 people and organizations registered their own Vietnamese domain names .
The rules are that one individual can only register five Vietnamese domain names.Moreover,they can also use a free email at mail.vn .
Many people complained that it's not such an easy task to apply for a domain name and it may take up to an hour to register one ,due to the growing demand .
“The registration and use of Vietnamese domain names such as muabánôtô.vn, chợviệt.vn, and chứngkhoánviễnđông.vn will create a completely Vietnamese environment on the internet.This is very important for Vietnam’s technology integration and internet resources application,” the Vietnam Internet Network Information Center said.
