DigitalTown Acquires 11,000 .City Domains

DigitalTown Inc. has recently announced that it has acquired more than 11,000 .city domain names .

The company announced that the acquisition is part of the new ” generation of intuitive “Smart Web” navigation extensions approved by ICANN, the global domain name industry regulator. ”

The network of .CITY domains are being made available to cities as part of a global network of public-private partnerships utilizing the DigitalTown SmartCity platform, ” announced the company.

After the company has acquired these .CITY domain names, there are now over 30,000 .city domain names registered, compare to 18,500 last month.
